The carrier providing the fully insured, HSA Qualified HDHP is
PerfectHealth of New York (PH), a licensed carrier domiciled in
Staten Island, NY. PH is a wholly owned subsidiary of Health Plan
of New York (HIP), a New York carrier with a Best Rating of B+.
PerfectHealth operates under the community rating rules of New York.
These rules make the coverage available to all members of Real Benefits
who live or work in New York without medical evidence.
In addition, HIP and Group Health Insurance of New York (GHI) have
recently merged. With a combined membership of more than four million
members in the metropolitan area and combined revenues of over $7
billion, this merger will create the largest health insurer based
in the State of New York.
PH uses the MultiPlan Network, www.multiplan.com,
which is available in all fifty (50) states. This network is available for those members
who work in NY but live in another state (i.e., CT, NJ, or PA) or “upstate” New York where
the GHI & HIP networks may not be as suitable as MultiPlan. In addition, the nomination
process is available to all members should their personal physician not be in the network
currently. The forms necessary are available by contacting the network at
newprov@multiplan.com. On September 1, 2006,
MultiPlan announced the acquisition of Private Healthcare Systems (PHCS), a national leader in
health care cost management. PHCS is a national PPO network established by 10 insurance companies
20 years ago. This transaction closed at the end of the fourth quarter of 2006, making MultiPlan
the largest Contract Network in the nation.
Enrollment materials are available by request
from Real Benefits (customerservice@rbausa.com).
We look forward to working with you.
